Place and role of Azerbaijan in energy security of Europe

Abstract: The energy consumption of the world has been rapidly increased along with the industrialization. Since use of oil as the source of energy, great mili-tary-political forces began to pursue a policy in order to control the countries and areas rich with hydrocarbon reserves. Specially in the XX century, the natural ener-gy sources such as oil and gas was out of the commercial material interest and be-came the modifier of the international policy, the target point of the international strategies and at the same time, the main center of the international security. In this case, energy security has become the most import issue both of the international forces and nations.
