A scientific seminar was held at the Institute of the Caucasus Studies on 27 November. The scientific seminar was opened by the acting director of the institute, Doctor of Political Sciences, Associate Professor Ramila Dadashova, with an introductory speech. She noted that the agreement on the Baku Financial Goal, which provides developing countries with a new commitment of $1.3 trillion annually to combat climate change at the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, held in Baku on 11-24 November 2024, under the chairmanship of the Republic of Azerbaijan, further increased the prestige of our state as a defender of the rights of developing countries, whose rights are violated due to the neo-colonial policies of some states. Ramila Dadashova also noted that the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev declared 2024 the "Year of Solidarity for a Green World". The liberated Karabakh and East Zangezur, as well as the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, have been declared a "green energy zone". In accordance with the priority of "A Country with a Clean Environment and Green Growth", one of the national priorities for socio-development of the Republic of Azerbaijan until 2030, the goal of the Republic of Azerbaijan is to expand the application of "green" technologies, increase renewable energy sources, and reduce and eliminate the factors that cause climate change.
