A roundtable dedicated to 50th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev’s coming to power in Azerbaijan

On July 11, a roundtable was held at the Institute of Caucasus Studies dedicated to 50th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev’s coming to power in Azerbaijan. Director of the Institute, corresponding member of ANAS, Professor Musa Qasimli commented on the fact that Great Leader made Azerbaijan one of the developed republics of the Soviet Union in 1969-1982, based on documentary sources and materials. Afterwards, deputy director for scientific affairs PhD., docent Ramila Dadashova, head of the Georgian studies department, PhD., docent Vahid Omarov, head of the Caucasus policy department, PhD. Elnur Kelbizadeh, head of the North Caucasus department, PhD. Liliya Mirzazade and head of the Translation, publication and information department Günel Musayeva talked about the great role of Heydar Aliyev in Azerbaijan’s statehood in both periods.
