The head of the Department at the Institution of Caucasus Studies delivered a speech at the international symposium

Head of the Department at the Institution of Caucasus Studies at ANAS, PhD. in History Elnur Kalbizada participated in the XI International Turkish Maritime Trade Symposium organized by the Turkish Historical Society and the University of Bandirma Onyedi Eylul on April 29-30, 2019. 

E.Kalbizada informed about the reasons of competition between different states throughout the history of the Gulf region and gave a comparative analysis of the implementation mechanisms of its goals in his speech titled "Commercial competition in the Persian Gulf and the Ottoman Empire" in the symposium. The Azerbaijani scholar touched to the importance of the region for the great powers as well as compared with the events in the modern era. 

It should be noted that prominent scientists from England, Algeria, Albania, Cyprus, and Turkey participated in the international symposium.
