Head of Department

Vahid Omarov Allahverdi was born in 1955 in the village of Kesalo of Gardabani region of the Republic of Georgia. From 1972 to 1977 he studied at the faculty of Philology of Baku State University. After graduating from high school, he continued his labor activity in various departments of the Institute of Philosophy of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences since 1979 as a senior laboratory assistant, junior scientific worker, senior scientific worker, leading scientific worker. In 1985-1989 he studied ethics in the graduate school of the Institute. In 1989 he defended the dissertation on “The moral ideal and its realization in Azerbaijan folklore” and received the degree of Doctor of philosophy in philosophy. He is the author of 80 scientific articles, 480 scientific publications, 9 monographs. At present, he is working on the doctoral dissertation on “US policy in Georgia: formation, current situation and prospects”.

Currently, he continues his activity in the position of Head of the North Caucasus  Department of the Caucasus Studies Institute.
